    What is a metal in trading?

    In trading, metals are a tradable commodity. Metals traded include iron ore, aluminium, gold or silver. Processed metals and alloys, such as steel, usually also fall under the term “metal” in trading.

    The world’s biggest importer of metals is China, followed by the United States and Japan. Big producers and exporters include Brasil, Australia and South Africa.
