Evening star

The evening star is a reversal pattern, usually formed at the end of an uptrend.

In order to be valid, the following elements must be present:

    • The first candle has to be a bullish candle (1) that is still part of the recent uptrend.
    • The second candle must have a very small body (2), indicating market indecision. It can be either bearish or bullish.
    • The third candle confirms the reversal (3), ideally closing beyond the middle of the first candle.
