European Union


    The European Union is an economic and political union. 18 of its 28 member states adopted the euro as official currency, issued by the European Central Bank (ECB).

    Some of its primary goals are the promotion of a common and free market, free travel, economic stability and peace.

    Its member states are:

    Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
