Bollinger bands

What are Bollinger bands in trading?

Bollinger bands are a volatility indicator in technical analysis, showing the volatility of the price movement. They were invented in the 1980s by John Bollinger.

Bollinger bands have an upper and lower boundary that is calculated on a standard deviation from the price. The upper and lower bands adjust as the price moves. They can be used in a number of ways.
