ASIC (Australian regulator)


    The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) is the financial regulatory body of Australia.

    The commission regulates Australian companies, financial marketsfinancial institutions and individual professionals who deal with financial products. Its main task is to maintain, facilitate and improve the performance of the financial system, as well as promote confidence and participation by investorstraders and consumers.

    ASIC’s areas of responsibility also include corporate governance, financial services, securitiesderivatives and insurance.
